Rental Rates

  • 1 DAY RATE: Pick up equipment any time during business hours and return it before closing the following day.
  • WEEKEND RATE: Pick up equipment any time during business hours on Friday and return it before closing on Monday. A 1½-day rental charge applies.
  • SATURDAY TO MONDAY RATE: Pick up equipment any time during business hours on Saturday and return it before closing on Monday. A one-day rental charge applies.
  • WEEKLY RATE: Keep the equipment for seven consecutive days and pay the three-day rental rate.

Business Hours

  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

All pickup and return times listed above are based on these business hours.

Studio Rentals

  • Two-hour minimum. Half-day and full-day rates are available.
  • Advance booking is required. Proof of insurance may be required.

Late Returns

Equipment returned after the scheduled return date will be charged an additional one-day rental rate for each day it remains late. If you experience any issues or have questions about your return, please call us at (480) 687-5607.

Payment and Security Requirements

  • The applicant must complete and sign the C.O.D. Application, Credit Card Authorization, and Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. Rental Agreement. The cardholder must also sign the Rental Agreement.
  • The full rental balance is due when the equipment is returned. Customers may pay by cash or credit card, or authorize us to apply the charge against the security hold.
  • Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. will accept a credit card for security when the total replacement value is under $10,000. Any order with a replacement value over $10,000 requires a Certificate of Insurance.
  • After the equipment is returned and inspected and full payment is received, we release the security deposit immediately. Your bank controls when the funds become available. Most releases appear within three business days, but timing may vary.
  • First Credit Card Use: When using a credit card for payment or security for the first time, the cardholder must appear at the rental office in person and present a valid driver’s license or passport.
  • Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. does not accept checks for security deposits.

Identification

A valid driver’s license or passport with photo identification is required.

Accepted Credit and Debit Cards

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and debit cards are accepted. Please note that banks may take longer to release funds held on debit cards.

Phone Orders

Phone orders are subject to management approval. When the cardholder is not present to sign for equipment, we must receive a legible photocopy of the cardholder’s driver’s license and credit card (front and back), as well as the Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. “Terms & Conditions” agreement and Rental Agreement, both completed and signed by the cardholder before the equipment can be released.

Insurance

All equipment rentals require either a security deposit or acceptable insurance coverage. Any client supplying their own insurance must provide a Certificate of Insurance naming Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. as additional insured and loss payee. A Certificate of Insurance is required for orders valued over $10,000. For orders under $10,000, a credit card may be used to cover the required security deposit.

Certificate of Insurance Requirements

  • Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. must be named the loss payee.
  • Coverage must include explicit, miscellaneous equipment, rented equipment, or rented and leased equipment.
  • Policies with unattended vehicle disclaimers will not be accepted.
  • All certificates and attached forms are subject to verification and management approval before the equipment is released.
  • A credit card is required to cover any insurance deductible and guarantee rental payment. See the credit card requirements above.

Loss or Theft

Daily rental charges will continue for equipment that is lost or stolen until Matte Black Camera Rentals, Inc. is reimbursed for 100% of replacement cost.

Security Deposits

Security deposit requirements are as follows. Management may waive or adjust these requirements at its discretion.

  • For Arizona residents with valid Arizona identification, the required credit or debit card deposit is 25% of the equipment’s replacement value. For customers with out-of-state identification or residency, the required deposit is 100% of the replacement value.
  • Cash deposits are accepted with valid identification and copies of a credit or debit card. The person named on the card and identification must be present.
  • A Certificate of Insurance may be provided as described above. A credit card is required to cover any deductible and guarantee payment. For first-time rentals, the cardholder must appear in the office and provide identification.

Reservations & Cancellations

Please call well in advance to reserve equipment for a future pickup. We cannot guarantee availability on short notice. There is no cancellation fee or penalty, but please notify us as soon as possible so we can make the equipment available to another customer.
